NSR Shipping Traffic – Cargoes to Sabetta port in 2021

In 2021, 40 thousand tons of specialized equipment were delivered to the port of Sabetta for the construction of the terminal Utrenniy (Salmanovskoe field), yamal-media.ru

In total, there were 319 voyages to and from Salmanovskoe made by 67 vessels. Both these figures are higher than in 2020 – 238 and 46 respectively. 166 voyages were made to Salmanovskoe. The most active period of supplying was from May to November:

The countries that sent the vessels to this port point were China, Norway, South Korea, Germany, but the main part of these deliveries was from Russian ports – 155 out of 166. More than half of voyages were from Arkhangelsk – 112. As for the vessel types, bulk, container, general cargo and heavy load carriers together made 142 voyages to Salmanovskoe field.

The project Arctic LNG-2 is built almost by two-thirds. The first processing line of the project Arctic LNG-2 is 78% ready according to Novatek press office.  In total, the project is half ready. Earlier at the meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin the head of the company Leonid Mikhelson has told that Novatek is planning to put into operation all three processing lines of Arctic LNG-2 in 2023-2025.

«The start of the first and the second lines will be in 2023 and 2024 respectively. Earlier it was plan to launch the third line in 2026. But now I think that these three lines will start in 2023, 2024 and 2025», – Mikhelson said. Besides that, the head of the company said that in 2024-2030 Novatek could build four liquefied lines. Their general capacity will surpass 26 mln of tons, teknoblog.ru

As for the port of Sabetta itself and incoming cargo, they are mainly intended for the construction of the plant Arctic LNG-2. The volume of imported cargo in the port of Sabetta in the 3rd quarter of 2021 increased by 11 times due to the supply of equipment for the construction of the Arctic LNG-2, neftegaz.ru

According to the customs service, it was imported:

  • equipment for the construction of the LNG plant,
  • hydraulic units,
  • electrical substation,
  • various modules and platforms,
  • crushed stone.

 

Overall, the number of vessel calls (excluding LNG carriers and icebreakers) decreased to 50 from 76 (2020). Among them, 45 voyages were made by bulk, container, general cargo and heavy load carriers. In terms of navigation period, ship calls were equally distributed in summer and winter:
